Why Cooking In Your Kitchen Is Better Than A BBQ

If you’ve spent enough time watching cooking shows on TV or YouTube on a sunny day, then you might find that the idea of a barbecue is in the back of your mind. However, you might find that it’s not as high on everyone’s list. If you’re in need of some kitchen repairs, then now might be the perfect time to do them before you think about planning the family’s next BBQ session.

According to research from Regina (via FemaleFirst), 84 per cent of UK parents found BBQs to be far too messy. In fact, 37 per cent said the idea of how dirty they can be could put them off it altogether.

Speaking to 1,000 people for the survey, the average parent could spend about 40 minutes cleaning up the mess. However, it identified that different foods can lead to people turning away from a BBQ. For example, 41 per cent said ribs were one of the food choices to avoid because of how dirty they can be, with chicken following it up at 30 per cent.

Judy Reith, a parenting coach and spokesperson for Regina, commented: “What’s meant to be a fun family occasion can often feel intimidating, but with a little forward planning and by having the right tools at your disposal, you can remove the stress and get more of the moments that matter with your family.”

If you want to have BBQ-style food, then there’s no doubt you could make burgers from your kitchen stove and cook hot dogs and halloumi on your grill. If you’re looking to cut down the time spent cleaning, then you could make everything inside, take the food outside and put all the crockery in the dishwasher when everyone’s done.
