Bathrooms are one of the spaces that can truly transform your home. And with a growing focus on self-care going into the new year, it’s little wonder that many of us are looking for ways to revamp this part of our home.
Real Simple recently highlighted some of the top design choices named by the 2018 Houzz Bathroom Trends Report, noting that bathtubs are again growing in popularity after falling out of favour in recent years.
In fact, the latest trends report found that 80 per cent of homeowners who were remodelling their bathrooms planned to upgrade their tub, with a soaking tub named as the most popular upgrade – 69 per cent said they’d like one of these in their bathroom.
If you’re hoping to redecorate your bathroom but can’t quite stretch to a new bath, consider whether bath repairs in the UK could be a more cost-effective way to revamp this important part of your bathroom.
Another top trend identified by Houzz is a move away from chrome when it comes to fixtures and fittings. It seems that matte nickel is currently the most popular option, with 38 per cent of those questioned choosing this finish. Shiny chrome was in second place, however, with 28 per cent of the vote.
Builder Online has also been sharing bathroom design trends and noted that homeowners are increasingly experimenting with their bathroom tiles. Mix and match tiles in particular are growing in popularity, with the website noting that this allows people to be more creative with their bathroom decor.
